52 Places to Shop for Souvenirs in Bali: A Regional Guide to Ubud, Artisan Areas, Sanur, and the Airport
This article preserves pre-departure research from September 2026, cross-checked against official store information, Google Maps, local Indonesian sources, and Korean purchase reviews. It is not a personal purchase or use review, and the editing date is not a fresh verification of store information. Prices, stock, opening hours, duty-free rules, and Korean import requirements may have changed since then; check current information before visiting or buying. There are no affiliate links.
When I organized Bali souvenirs only by item, it was hard to use the list in a real itinerary. It is easy for the route to become tangled—for example, by trying to find again in Sanur something we saw in Ubud, or by going to the opposite side of the airport to shop on the last day.
So this time, I decided first where to look for what.
- Central Ubud: Add textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and skincare to walking routes.
- Artisan and market areas outside Ubud: Only take a car when the making process or a large market itself is the destination.
- Sanur: Finish practical gifts with a walk around Andaz and a visit to ICON BALI.
- Southern Bali and the airport: Pick up only what we could not buy in Ubud or Sanur along the departure route.
I also made a CSV of 52 Bali shopping spots for Google My Maps.
Bottom line: five places are enough for our itinerary
We did not plan to visit all 52 places. Our pre-departure priorities were:
- Threads of Life: One traditional textile with a story we can explain
- Kevala Home Ubud or Gaya Ceramic: A small cup or bowl
- Utama Spice Sanur: Small, easy-to-use gifts such as soap, lip balm, or mosquito repellent
- Junglegold Sanur: Chocolate on a day close to departure
- ICON BALI: A single air-conditioned stop to check any remaining food, clothing, or gifts
Krisna near the airport is not an essential stop. We will use it only if we need to replace forgotten gifts all at once at fixed prices.
Quick choices by area
- One meaningful piece: Threads of Life, Gaya Ceramic, or Studio Perak in Ubud
- Light, small gifts: Sensatia or Utama Spice in Ubud or Sanur
- Coffee and chocolate: Seniman in Ubud, Junglegold in Sanur
- Market souvenirs: Ubud Art Market, Sukawati Art Market, Pasar Sindhu
- Clothing and textiles: Uluwatu Lace, Nogo Ikat, Paulina Katarina, Bamboo Blonde
- Gifts for children: Indigo Kids Sanur
- One-stop shopping on a rainy day: ICON BALI
- Last-minute pickup before departure: Rama Krisna Tuban
If the same brand has branches in several areas, we do not need to buy it first. For example, Sensatia, Utama Spice, and Ananda Soul are all found in both Ubud and Sanur, so we can look around based on scent or design and buy only what we need later in the trip.
1. Central Ubud: 18 places to see on foot
In Ubud, we will not try to cover the palace and market, Dewi Sita, Gootama, Hanoman, and Monkey Forest Road all in one day. It is better to combine only about two areas on a day when we walk from the hotel.
Palace, market, and Kajeng cluster
- Ubud Art Market — A market for comparing sarongs, pouches, small baskets, and carved-wood and rattan accessories. We will not buy at the first shop; we will check the finish and prices at two or three places. If the place of manufacture is unclear, we will not treat “Ubud style” and “made in Ubud” as the same thing.
- Threads of Life — A place to look at naturally dyed textiles and baskets. Its official introduction says that it works directly with women’s weaving communities on several Indonesian islands. It is better suited to choosing one scarf or runner whose production region, pattern, and dyeing method we can explain than to buying cheap mass-produced gifts.
- Filthy Gorgeous Kajeng — A convenient place to compare silver rings, earrings, and necklaces. The official store list includes several Ubud locations, including Kajeng, Ubud Market, Monkey Forest, and Hanoman, so we will visit only the closest one.
Dewi Sita and Gootama cluster
- Ananda Soul Ubud — A Dewi Sita store for recycled-silver jewelry, natural stones, candles, and textiles. Its official information says it is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is a place to choose one design we would wear in Korea too, rather than an inexpensive silver-souvenir shop.
- Kevala Home Ubud — A Dewi Sita shop for ceramics made in Bali. Its official location information lists opening hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Cups, small bowls, and incense holders are easier to carry than a large dinnerware set.
- Utama Spice Gootama — The official branch at Gootama No. 12. We will start with small items whose uses are clear, such as soap, lip balm, body butter, and mosquito repellent.
- KOU Cuisine — A small shop known for jam and salt. Because current information depends more on maps and official social media than on the official website, we will check its current opening status and packaging again. For jam, we will consider liquid rules, leakage, and the conditions for bringing it into Korea before buying.
- KOU Bali — A sister shop for soap and bath products. Rather than buying several items based only on their scent, we will check the ingredients, weight, manufacturing date, and packaging.
Hanoman and Monkey Forest Road cluster
- Studio Perak — A candidate for silver jewelry and a silver-craft workshop. When buying a finished piece, we will have the receipt state whether it is 925 silver or plated and whether repair or exchange is available. We will check the workshop schedule and reservation requirements separately.
- Utama Spice Hanoman — The official branch at Hanoman No. 4. Its products overlap with the Gootama branch, so there is no need to visit both.
- Utama Spice Monkey Forest — The official store information says it is about 130 meters north of Monkey Forest. We will choose it only when it is easy to combine with a visit to the forest.
- Sensatia Botanicals Monkey Forest I — The official address is Monkey Forest No. 64, with hours listed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Small, sealed products such as lip balm, hand cream, and travel kits make practical gifts.
- Uluwatu Handmade Balinese Lace Ubud — The official address is Monkey Forest No. 14. We will look at Balinese lace shirts, dresses, and scarves while checking the material and actual place of manufacture for each product.
- Paulina Katarina Ubud — The official store introduction lists handwoven sarongs, sun-care products, and men’s and women’s resort wear as key items at the Ubud branch. We will look for one outfit we can wear in Korea too, rather than clothes meant only for photos.
Coffee, food, and the western car route
- Seniman Coffee Studio — A candidate for Indonesian single-origin beans and drip bags. We will check the roasting date, origin, and whether the beans are ground; for gifts to several people, we will choose individually sealed products.
- Bali Buda Ubud — A useful place to replenish commercially packaged foods such as granola, cookies, dried mango, and coffee. The official online shop lets us preview the products and price range, but store stock may differ.
- BIASA Ubud — A minimalist resortwear and design store in Sanggingan. Its official information lists daily hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is not for inexpensive souvenirs, but for choosing clothes we can wear for a long time after checking the material and trying them on.
- Gaya Ceramic — The Sayan flagship showroom features tableware, lighting, and objects. Its official information lists hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; tours of the production studio require an inquiry and reservation. We will ask about protective packaging first and focus on small cups or bowls.
2. Artisan areas, markets, and Mengwi outside Ubud: 7 places worth a car ride
This is not “shopping in central Ubud.” We will avoid driver-led shopping routes that visit several workshops without a clear purpose and choose only one or two places when we have a particular craft we want to see. The final Junglegold factory is not in Ubud’s artisan area but toward Mengwi and Taman Ayun, so we will treat it as a separate route.
- John Hardy Kapal Bamboo Boutique & Workshop — A high-end jewelry workshop in Mambal. Official information lists the boutique as open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; workshop tours operate on weekdays and require a reservation one day in advance. We will go when the goal is the experience of seeing the making process, not simply shopping.
- Prapen Jewelry & Artifacts — A traditional metalwork and silver showroom in Celuk. Its official site introduces traditional Balinese metalwork along with exhibition and work spaces. We will confirm the purity, weight, type of stones, and repair conditions in writing.
- Sukawati Art Market — A large traditional market where clothing, paintings, and handicrafts can be compared at once. We will go only if we are prepared for bargaining and variable quality. If we have already bought what we need at Ubud Art Market, there is little reason to make a duplicate visit.
- Guwang Art Market — An alternative market near Sukawati. We will choose only one market and check the currently operating area, parking, and opening hours on the map before setting out.
- Tegallalang Handicraft Centre — Not one shop but an area where craft stores continue along the road. There is plenty of rattan, woodwork, and home décor, but for large items we will calculate shipping, breakage risk, and Korean quarantine requirements first.
- Mas Village Wood Carving — Likewise, this is a wood-carving area rather than a single shop. A signature or description does not automatically guarantee the artist or origin, so we will ask about the maker, type of wood, and whether it has been treated.
- Junglegold Chocolate Factory — A factory and café, not part of Ubud’s artisan area, at Jalan Denpasar–Singaraja No. 29 in Mengwi. The official visit page distinguishes a free self-guided visit from paid farm and factory tours and chocolate-making activities. It is practical only when combined with a drive toward Taman Ayun, Jatiluwih, or Bedugul; if we only need to shop, the Sanur branch is much simpler.
3. Sanur: 19 places to finish the shopping later in the trip
Around Andaz Bali, it helps to divide Jalan Danau Tamblingan into northern ICON BALI, the central boutique stretch, and the southern Sudamala stretch. Even when the map makes the distances look short, heat, sidewalk conditions, and crossing roads can make them feel longer in practice.
North, ICON BALI, and Sindhu
- ICON BALI — The first choice for the last day, combining air conditioning, restrooms, food, and shopping. We can mix local brands with general shopping, but being sold in a mall does not by itself mean that something was made in Bali.
- Rita Gift Shop Sanur — A candidate for an independent gift shop carrying traditional textiles, batik, paintings, and small handicrafts. We could not verify an independent official site and are relying on local shopping guides and the Google Maps listing, so we will confirm its opening status and location again on the day.
- Sensatia Botanicals ICON BALI — The official store locator lists it as Beach Floor Unit 26A. It is convenient for comparing gift wrapping and several scents indoors.
- Bamboo Blonde ICON BALI — A place to look at Bali-based resortwear, linen, accessories, and shoes. An official announcement confirms that the ICON BALI branch is operating. We will think first about whether we would wear the items in Korea.
- Junglegold Sanur — A good place to taste and choose chocolate bars, small boxes, and gift sets. We will buy chocolate close to departure and not leave it in a hot car for long.
- Pasar Sindhu / Sindhu Night Market — A place to see inexpensive sarongs, bracelets, small souvenirs, and night-market food together. “Sindhu Beach Market” is a separate Google Maps listing and was marked temporarily closed, so we will not assume that it is the same place.
Central Danau Tamblingan around Andaz
- Uma and Leopold Sanur — A boutique for linen and cotton resortwear, leather bags and wallets, and shoes. We will choose based on actual wear and care requirements rather than as a cheap souvenir.
- Utama Spice Sanur — The official address is Gopa Town Center, Danau Poso No. 57. We will prioritize easy-to-gift, genuinely useful items such as small soaps, lip balms, body butter, and mosquito repellent.
- Filthy Gorgeous Sanur — The official address is Danau Tamblingan No. 71. For silver jewelry, we will check whether it is 925 silver and ask about plating or alloy content.
- Paulina Katarina Sanur — A place to browse women’s and men’s resortwear along with Mini PK children’s clothing, accessories, perfume, and gifts.
- Indigo Kids Sanur — A place for children’s clothing and hand-printed or embroidered items. The official brand story emphasizes small-batch collaborations with village artisans in Indonesia. We will check the size and washing instructions.
- Magita Home Deco XL — A shop with plenty of baskets, woodcraft, bowls, and wall décor. Address details differ across sources, so we need to navigate using the current map pin.
- Uluwatu Handmade Balinese Lace Sanur — The official address is Danau Tamblingan No. 94. If we have already looked at the Ubud branch, there is no need to visit again.
- Nogo Bali Ikat Center — A textile shop for ikat, batik, scarves, fabric, and shirts. Small scarves or table runners are easier to carry than large lengths of fabric.
- Ananda Soul Sanur — According to the official information, it sells the same brand’s recycled-silver jewelry, natural stones, candles, and textiles as the Ubud branch. We will use it for a final comparison if we have not decided in Ubud.
- Arta Sedana Sanur — A department-store and supermarket-style option for fixed-price clothing, household goods, cosmetics, and packaged food. It is different in character from a shop specializing in locally made products.
- Sanur Jewellery Studio — A candidate for an experience-based souvenir involving a handmade silver ring or pendant. Because this uses part of the itinerary as a class rather than simple shopping, we will confirm the reservation, duration, and included silver weight.
South, toward Sudamala
- Sensatia Botanicals Danau Tamblingan — The official address is Danau Tamblingan No. 121, with hours listed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. We will choose just one of the branches near ICON or this one.
- Daun The Gift Shop Sanur — A gift shop near Sudamala carrying woodcraft, incense holders, pouches, coffee, and fragrance products. The official site describes collaboration with local artisans, but we will not generalize that to mean every item was made in Bali; we will check the label for each product.
4. Southern Bali and the airport: 8 places only if they are on the itinerary
Our trip centers on Ubud and Sanur, so we will not make a round trip just for shopping in Seminyak or Canggu. We will consider these places only if we have time on the airport-transfer day or a separate stay in southern Bali.
- Rama Krisna Tuban — A place near the airport to replenish food, coffee, T-shirts, and small items all at once at fixed prices. The official site describes it as a large souvenir shop without bargaining. A 2025 Naver review labeled as personally purchased and non-sponsored mentioned buying clothing, keychains, magnets, and coffee, as well as the convenience of luggage storage.
- Krisna Bypass Tuban — A large shop with a wide range, but we will not assume it has the lowest prices. A 2024 Naver review labeled as personally purchased and non-sponsored said it felt more expensive than Coco Mart in Ubud and found the clothing designs disappointing. It is better treated as a place to replace forgotten items.
- Seminyak Village Marketplace — A place to compare several Bali and Indonesian brands and handicrafts in an air-conditioned space. It is useful if we dislike market bargaining or already have a Seminyak itinerary.
- Geneva Handicraft Centre — A fixed-price shop where glass, wood, bamboo, coconut, rattan, and stone crafts can be compared in volume. We will focus on small items and calculate quarantine requirements and shipping costs before considering wood or large home décor.
- The Shop by ZIN — According to its official introduction, a Canggu concept store carrying fashion, jewelry, skincare, fragrance, and ceramics from more than 40 Bali-based brands. It is a place to choose one item for its design rather than to buy a large quantity cheaply.
- Island Traders Canggu — A shop near Echo Beach for raffia bags, beach bags, card wallets, and accessories. Prices are higher than at market-souvenir stalls, so we will choose something only if it is a design we will use for a long time.
- Love Anchor Bazaar — According to its official introduction, 78 stalls offer jewelry, bohemian clothing, home décor, and handicrafts. Because quality and prices vary by seller, it is best for browsing and comparison.
- Discovery Mall Kuta — Not a dedicated souvenir shop, but a place in Kuta to combine air conditioning, restrooms, food, and shopping. A 2026 Naver review labeled as personally purchased and non-sponsored said the writer bought a selendang, magnets, curry, and sambal, but found the rattan bags expensive.
What I filtered from Korean reviews labeled as personally purchased
Personally purchased is the writer’s own label; it does not independently verify a receipt or the writer’s relationship with advertisers. Even so, I prioritized sources with specific details about actual purchases and drawbacks over promotional-looking posts whose sponsorship status was unclear.
- Krisna: The selection and departure-route convenience are advantages, but it cannot always be assumed to be cheaper than Ubud. Check the exact branch name and opening hours.
- Discovery Mall: I used it as a reference for cases where light items such as selendangs, sambal, and curry were replenished during a southern-Bali itinerary, rather than as an assessment of the mall itself.
- Pepito Express Pecatu review: The purchase of YAVA granola and Delfi chocolate, along with the experience of checkout delays and price comparisons, was useful, but there is no reason to travel to Pecatu just for souvenirs.
- Sensatia Batu Bolong review: I used it as a reference for choosing gift items such as lip balm, hand cream, and travel kits. Because there are official branches in Ubud and Sanur too, I would not make the Canggu branch a separate destination.
Posts without a non-sponsored purchase label or based only on a search snippet were used only to discover places and excluded as evidence for prices or quality.
Where to buy each type of item
One piece to keep for years
- Traditional textiles: Threads of Life
- Small ceramics: Kevala Home or Gaya Ceramic
- Silver jewelry: One of Studio Perak, Prapen, or Ananda Soul, depending on the budget
- Resortwear: One outfit actually tried on at Uluwatu Lace, BIASA, or Paulina Katarina
Items to share with several people
- Soap and lip balm: Utama Spice or Sensatia
- Drip bags and beans: Seniman
- Chocolate: Junglegold
- Packaged snacks: ICON BALI, Arta Sedana, Krisna, or a supermarket along the route
- Postcards, pouches, and coasters: Compare quality at Ubud Art Market or Pasar Sindhu, then buy only a small quantity
Things I would skip
- Luwak coffee whose production method and animal-welfare history are difficult to verify
- Products made with coral, shells, or wildlife materials
- Soil, seeds, fresh plants, or wood whose treatment status is unclear
- Large rattan furniture and large ceramics that could easily break
- Expensive jewelry whose material, purity, and receipt details cannot be verified
- Food with unclear expiration dates, ingredients, or sealed condition
Questions to ask in the store
Was this made in Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia? What is the material? Is this solid 925 silver or plated? Can you wrap this for checked baggage? Can you write the material and product name on the receipt?“Bali style,” “Bali brand,” and “Made in Bali” are different terms. Even if a brand began in Bali, we will not assume that every product was made in Bali.
Bringing items into Korea
- Liquids, oils, and jam: Check protective packing for checked baggage, leak prevention, and the airline’s liquid rules.
- Chocolate: Buy it just before departure and keep it away from hot vehicles and direct sunlight.
- Coffee and snacks: Prioritize unopened, commercially packaged products with an ingredients label and expiration date.
- Plants, seeds, medicinal herbs, and wood: Check Korean quarantine and declaration requirements before buying.
- Silver and gemstones: Get a receipt listing the purity, plating, type of stone, and price.
- Ceramics and paintings: Check the size allowed in carry-on baggage, protective packaging, and responsibility for breakage.
Before departure, we will make the final decision after checking the Incheon Airport quarantine guidance and the Korea Customs Service traveler declaration and duty-free guidance again.
Shopping basket for our itinerary
- One small textile from Threads of Life, or skip it
- One or two small cups or bowls from Kevala or Gaya
- One piece of silver jewelry, after checking the material and receipt
- Small gifts from Utama Spice or Sensatia
- Seniman beans or drip bags
- Junglegold chocolate in Sanur on a day close to departure
- Market souvenirs only within the set budget
- Pick up only forgotten items at ICON BALI or Krisna near the airport
